HELLO FELLOW MODEL BUILDERS. I HAVE BEEN IN LOVE WITH SCALE MODELS FOR A LONG TIME AND PARTICULARLY TAMIYA MODELS WITH THEIR INCREDIBLE AND FASCINATING ATTENTION TO DETAILS THAT CONJURES DEVOTION AMONG US.
I HAVE BUT ONE COMMENT TO MAKE AND THAT IS THAT TAMIYA SHOULD MOVE ON INTO THE CONTEMPORARY MILITARY FOLD AND STOP TURNING IN CIRCLES AROUND WORLD WAR II ERA KITS. BRAVO FOR MODERN US, BRITISH AND SOVIET MILITARY KITS, BOTH ARMOURED UNITS AND MODERN INFANTRY, BUT WHAT ABOUT MODERN BRITISH ARMY INFANTRY FIGURES IN 1/35 SCALE, OR FRENCH ARMY INFANTRY ( THEY HAVE ALREADY INTRODUCED THE LECLERC MBT BUT WHAT ABOUT MODERN FRENCH INFANTRY TO ACCOMPANY IT? OR WHAT ABOUT ISRAELI ARMY INFANTRY TO GO ALONG WITH THE MERKAVA TANK ALREADY IN EXISTENCE? WHAT ABOUT MODERN GERMAN ARMY INFANTRY TO ACCOMPANY THE SUCCESSFUL LEOPARD 2 A5 AND A6 MODELS?
WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO TAMIYA AND MY FELLOW SCALE MODELLERS, IT IS TIME TO MOVE AHEAD INTO THE MODERN WORLD AND ITS WARS AND LEAVE WORLD WAR II BEHIND, DON´T YOU THINK?
